The Lakewoods project is being developed by Lakewoods Resort Developments, Inc. (LRDI), an Ontario Corporation formed in 2006 for the purpose of developing the Lakewoods property. The principal of LRDI is Gary Medwid, a Professional Engineer and Developer with extensive experience in design, construction and project management. Areas of expertise include real estate development, wind power and the forest products industry. Mr. Medwid has been involved in the Lakewoods property in some capacity dating back to 1976. An initial development concept was produced back in 1983 and the project subsequently evolved to what it is today.
Drive east from Toronto on Hwy 401 to the Hwy 35/115 exit. Drive north on Hwy 115 to the end at Hwy 7 (east side of Peterborough) and then drive east a few kms. to Hwy 28 and then turn left on Hwy 28. Follow Hwy 28 all the way to Bancroft. At Bancroft, take Hwy 62 North to Barry's Bay. Turn left on Hwy 60 and travel west approximately 9 kms. to Skead Road. Turn left onto Skead Road and follow the road to Lakewoods. Drive north from Toronto on Hwy 400 to Barrie and then continue on Hwy 11 to Huntsville. At Huntsville, take the Hwy 60 exit and follow Hwy 60 east through Algonquin Park to Skead Road. Turn left onto Skead Road and follow the road to Lakewoods. (Approximately 6 kms.)Driving time from Huntsville is approximately 1.5 hours.
Drive north on Hwy 417 to Renfrew. Turn left on Hwy 60 and drive west to Barry's Bay. Travel west on Hwy 60 from Barry's Bay approximately 9 kms. To Skead Road. Turn left onto Skead Road and follow the road to Lakewoods. (Approximately 6 kms.)Driving time from Ottawa is approximately 1.5 hours and from Montreal is approximately 3.5 hours.
